Great Stuff to See and Do!

One of the world's most unique ski resorts, being directly connected to the train station and the ski center

GALA Yuzawa is directly connected to both GALA Yuzawa Station, via the Jōetsu Shinkansen, and the ski center. This outstanding accessibility makes it a very popular ski resort among international tourists. The ski center also has one of the largest collections of rental equipment in the world. Those who have a fixed arrival date should make reservations in advance online.

The ski season at GALA Yuzawa runs from December to around April. The expansive slopes comprise 16 courses in three areas centered on the 1,181-meter summit of Mt. Takatsukura. The longest run is 2,500 meters, and there is a rich variety of courses for both beginners and advanced skiers alike, including those with gentle slopes and those with panoramic views from the top of the mountain. Stable powder snow and great skiing conditions also figure into the secret behind the resort’s popularity. In the central area, you’ll find the Bell of LOVE Observation Deck, where you can experience one of the most spectacular mountain views in Japan.

A wide selection of fun activities are also available during the summer

After enjoying winter sports on the slopes, head to “SPA GALA no Yu” on the third floor of the ski center. You can refresh yourself in the hot springs and open-air jacuzzi. Various facilities are available onsite, including restaurants and food stalls, shops, and a rest area, so you will be able to spend the entire day enjoying the resort life.

“GALA Summer Park” is open during the summer season (Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from July 29 to September 10). A host of activities are available, such as skiing and snowboarding on the summer slopes, mountain carts, buggies, and an outdoor sauna.

Whether in winter or in summer, you can feel a festive GALA atmosphere whenever you visit.
