Nara

Nara is located close to the center of the Japanese archipelago, just south of Kyoto. From the 6th to 8th centuries, Nara was the capital of Japan and served as its political, economic, and cultural center, so it has numerous historical and cultural heritage sites. Nara is also known for its rich and attractive natural environment, including the many mountains and plateaus in the area.
